Invitation to EAMSC Singapore 2012 Academic Competitions

Invitation to EAMSC Singapore 2012 Academic Competitions

For the upcoming East Asian Medical Students’ Conference2012 Singapore (Infectious Diseases), we will be having 3 main competitive sections:
    1. Health Campaign Competition (regional only)
    2. Scientific Paper Competition (regional only)
    3. Scientific Poster Competition (regional and open)

All medical students are welcome to work on scientific projects/health campaign and submit their work in the conference, pitching them against international delegates, from ~20 countries, who will bringing their own top local projects over here to Singapore to compete. This is a once in a life-time opportunity not to be missed with the added convenience of all the delegates coming over to us.

For the (1) Health Campaign Competition & (2) Scientific Paper Competitions, we will only be selecting ONE project each to represent Singapore. However, for the (3) Scientific Poster competition, we will be selecting ONE BEST POSTER to compete in the REGIONAL section, while the rest of the entries can also compete in the OPEN Category :)

To select the TOP projects to compete in the REGIONAL section representing Singapore , we will be first having a Local Selection. More details and regulations regarding the local selection process and its deadlines will be released soon.

For those who are working on the Scientific Paper, don’t worry if you are not selected because you will still be able to subsequently convert your work to a Poster format for submission under the Scientific Poster Competition (Open Category)

All students are reminded to start work on the Scientific Projects early because research projects all take at least a few months to complete (especially when ethics approval is needed). There’s around 4.5 months to go, so there’s no time to lose!

Attached (http://www.mediafire.com/?7am2ceeme7chgj4) is the INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION GUIDELINES for EAMSC2012. Deadlines listed here are for the international competition, so expect slightly earlier datelines for the Local Selection when the details are out. Do refer to the international guidelines for entry requirements which is the same for the local selection.

We hope that everyone will make good use of this opportunity and find the entire journey of competing in an international competition a fruitful experience :)
